the pink jeep

Probably one of the funniest things to witness this summer has been Jane cruising around the cul-de-sac with her little neighbor friend, Elle, in a hot pink, battery-powered Barbie jeep.  Elle earned the jeep for getting potty trained, and watching the two of them zipping around in that thing is simply hilarious!  Elle is pretty much a fearless  and crazy driver and Jane just can't wait to jump in when she sees Elle coming!  They go off curbs, through the empty fields and bushes, backwards down the steep driveways, and across the lawns of every home in the neighborhood.  And all the while Jane is laughing with delight!  They come down one of the neighbor's steep driveways the same way you'd ride a roller coaster... hands and arms up in the air, squealing with delight!  Elle's mom and I just stand there from a distance and watch while we hold our breath that they don't tip the jeep over, or worse yet... take off down Brookburn Road.  They are cute little friends.

Elle let Josh take a turn... and I can almost fast-forward 12 years.  Hmmm, right now I think I like them being ages three and four.
